CountrySTAT / FENIX Overview of the new CountrySTAT Training Objectives TRAINING OF FOCAL POINTS ON THE CountrySTAT/FENIX SYSTEM Tuesday, November 27, 2018

INTRODUCTION CountrySTAT is a platform for sharing knowledge and data, primarily on food security, nutrition and agriculture. CountrySTAT has been developed using cutting-edge open-source technology (FENIX platform) implemented also for the new FAOSTAT system. CountrySTAT : provides data analysis facilitates monitoring and evidence-based decision making ....

INTRODUCTION The new CountrySTAT aims at establishing an integrated network of national and international agencies to share information and data, mainly on food, nutrition and agriculture The new technology is based on the FENIX platform, implemented for the new FAOSTAT system, and CountrySTAT

INTRODUCTION The "Network" is based on four main elements: The technology  to manage and share data The institutional framework  to establish agreements between partners and data governance The statistics  to ensure data quality The knowledge  to develop both simple and complex analyses using available data

TRAINING OBJECTIVES b) The Institutional framework: The institutional framework and key national structures (the national secretariat and the Technical Working Group of CountrySTAT) CountrySTAT discusses results from a collaborative effort between members of a network of national and international institutions that make available official data to be uploaded regularly on the system CountrySTAT is the effort of a community rather than the results of a single organization. It means creating a system that is owned and run nationally CountrySTAT Partnerships
