E S A Y O U T L I N Paragraph #1: INTRODUCTION -The first sentence is called the ‘attention grabber’. -Include 2-3 general statements about your topic. -The final sentence is the thesis statement (topic + opinion + 3 reasons). E S A Y O U T L I N Paragraph #2: BODY PARAGRAPH -The first sentence is your topic sentence which discusses your first thesis statement. -Include statements, facts or quotations about your topic. -The final sentence is the concluding statement (wrap up your paragraph!) Paragraph #4: BODY PARAGRAPH -The first sentence is your topic sentence which discusses your third thesis statement. -Include statements, facts or quotations about your topic. -The final sentence is the concluding statement (wrap up your paragraph!) Paragraph #3: BODY PARAGRAPH -The first sentence is your topic sentence which discusses your second thesis statement. -Include statements, facts or quotations about your topic. -The final sentence is the concluding statement (wrap up your paragraph!) Paragraph #5: CONCLUSION -Use transition words to conclude your final paragraph. -Re-state your thesis (avoid using word for word). -The final sentence should leave the reader with a final thought (make them think!)
