What is the Sweeps Week Program? Sampling a “typical” week The Sweeps Week Program is conducted twice a year, usually the 8th or 9th week of each 16-week semester. Sweeps Weeks can not be immediately before or after spring break. All library units should be operating regular hours during the Sweeps Weeks. It’s mainly for units with public services points Use Desk Tracker for data collection Gate Count/Head Count/Other Reference transactions and Directional questions
What do we use the Sweeps Week data for? Library Statistics Units annual reports, annual surveys for the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), IPEDS, ACRL, campus Budget planning and staffing Research, grant applications and PR materials Data available at: G:\Annual Report Stats (past 5 fiscal years) G:\Statistics\Sweeps Desk Tracker
