There's An App for That: A Mobile Procedure Logging Application Using Quick Response Codes CLICK TO GO BACK TO KIOSK MENU Jason Folt, Nikhil Goyal, Patrick Lam Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, Michigan INTRODUCTION MOBILE PROCEDURE LOGGING APP EFFECTIVENESS Accurate procedure logging is an ACGME requirement Procedure logging is a frequent citation Web-based procedure logging platforms are cumbersome Up to 40% of procedures performed are not logged by residents Many procedures are not logged, or are logged inaccurately Average time spent logging a procedure decreased from 79 seconds to 27 seconds after implementation Transcription errors were found with an error rate of 15% for last name, 9% for age, and 2% for sex when using the traditional web-based method of logging Transcription errors were eliminated using the mobile app Initial resident adoption was poor and the mobile app accounted for only 3.52% of procedures logged Strict IT requirements, personal privacy concerns, Android bugs were limiting factors OBJECTIVES CAN I DO THIS?
