Agenda Topics: Eurostat XDIS/XBRL Project Scope Title of presentation Topics: Eurostat XDIS/XBRL Project Scope Exposition on relevant experiences with Spanish NSI Comparison with Belgium experience Expected involvement from Belgium NSI in Eurostat Project Collaboration possibilities Introduction Market Target Customer Successes in 2005 Additional Information Summary Q&A

Eurostat XDIS/XBRL Project Scope XDIS/XBRL scope is the statistical frameworks, namely STS, BoP, SBS, CB, PRODCOM, LFS…. The Pilot Project XDIS/XBRL focuses in collecting structural data from enterprises (framework SBS) by NSI Primary Targets: Functional analysis. Strategy for taxonomy structure (one large taxonomy vs. smaller ones, FR vs GL), Analyzing reusability of accounting reports (balance sheet, income statement and notes) for SBS, Evaluate backwards compatibility on process and involvement of the parties, Technical Analysis. Build the taxonomy Demonstrating XBRL format suitability, Architecture analysis. Identifying nature of necessary tools.

Spanish NSI experiences Target 1 SBS comprises 6 sectors: industry, services, construction, credit entities, insurance and pension funds. Low reusability of concepts in annual accounts for industry, services and construction with SBS framework. Large reusability of annual accounts for Credit entities, Insurance and Pension Funds (to be confirmed) Necessary to analyze more frameworks for determining if a large taxonomy would be advisable. Sectoral considerations. It would also require commitment by the involved parties and planning.

Spanish NSI experiences Target 1 Taxonomy for industry and services (annex 1-4 of SBS) Some concepts reusability from annual accounts. Extending? The taxonomy of our GAAP (PGC-90) lacks the notes section, NSI provide us mappings against National chart of accounts rather than annual accounts, It would require changing process, procedure manuals, organizational issues… We consider a broader strategy and commitment by the parties would be necessary for changing the current forms We decide maintaining forms philosophy ensuring backwards compatibility.

Spanish NSI experiences Target 2 SPANISH NSI FORMS XBRL TAXONOMY

Spanish NSI experiences Target 2 core Ref. xdis-core-2006-07-01 xdis-ser-2006-07-01 xdis-ind-2006-07-01 ind Label Pres. Calc. ser Spanish GCD version files

Spanish NSI experiences Target 3 Unadvisable and unnecessary requesting enterprises agreement for XBRL by cultural reasons (explain) Non-intrusive evolution XBRL integration available to enterprises ? XBRL format ENTERPRISES DB XBRL Web Services E-mail – SMTP FTP

Belgian NSI experiences Target 1. ¿Averaged number of parameters reused from annual accounts? (annexes 1 - 4) (as both accounting standards derive from 4th and 7th directive, results must be similar) What are the results for credit, insurance and pension funds? Are they mapped against annual accounts as SBS directives suggests? In both cases, could we have access to the mapping docs in order to check with Spanish findings? Do you have a high level strategy for the taxonomy? Are you implementing a SBS taxonomy or is it integrated in a broader framework? Target 3. What is the expected procedure for testing plan? Will enterprises carry out integration projects? Are you using a non-intrusive approach? What are the timelines?

Expected involvement from Belgian NSI To be Defined
