What funding is available? PM Development Fund LBR (Learning Beyond Registration) formerly CPD GP Fellowships Physician Associate / Nursing Preceptorships Spirometry Upskilling staff

Practice Manager Development Suffolk and North East Essex has invested in developing Practice Managers through a range of training and development opportunities. The goals for this funding stream will be three core areas:-   Support the Practice Manager Forums which meet regularly and provide opportunities for peer support, sharing of good practice and training. These are available to all Practice Managers and meet monthly. Programme of skills training to be delivered as part of the PM forums and support local needs Time management, Coaching, Managing teams Example: Bid writing from West Practices

Practice Manager Development ILM apprenticeships: Management training at level 3/4 will be offered to support Assistant/Deputy Practice Managers through the ILM level 3 Management Apprenticeship. The funding will support a cohort of 10 by funding the employer contribution. This training will build upon existing training programmes, providing management training to support Assistant/Deputy Practice Managers which will support business continuity programmes by enabling practices to develop succession planning models.  

CPD Training Funding is specific for 3 key areas for PMD 30 Fellowships across EoE in first wave. 1 in Suffolk & NE Essex. Now engaging with Speciality providers to develop programmes prior to engagement. Working with GP Trainees to offer training (gp skills training now part of curriculum)

GP Fellowships / GP Trainees   GP Fellowships / GP Trainees The Training Hub is working with Health Education England to establish First 5 GP Fellowships across the STP. Physician Associate/Nurse preceptorships Funding received for preceptorships - PA preceptorships currently filled. 2 Nursing preceptorships still available   Funding is specific for 3 key areas for PMD 30 Fellowships across EoE in first wave. 1 in Suffolk & NE Essex. Now engaging with Speciality providers to develop programmes prior to engagement. Working with GP Trainees to offer training (gp skills training now part of curriculum) 2 Physician Associates and 2 Nurse preceptorships already taken up. 2 Nurse preceptorships left. These free courses are available through the Suffolk GP Federation GP Skills Training Series of courses rolling out over the next academic year, across the STP and available to GP Trainees, GPs, PMs and PNs. Spirometry Training Working with IESCCG to roll out a 3 year programme of new learners and update courses. Education for Health will be providing the training. Expected start date for first cohort is November for fully funded courses. Expecting to start in November 2018 with first study day and 2nd expected to be in Feb 2019. Setting cohort evenly throughout practices to try and ensure coverage.

Cohorts of 12 minimum usually. Practices may sometimes have to pay for course. Number of external providers
