Retouch an image to remove flaws, blemishes or unwanted objects. Adjust settings, such as contrast and brightness to improve the appearance of an image. Export and print images from Photoshop. Use layers to alter images in a range of ways, for example to combine images together or add text. Utilise selection tools to highlight, and use, specific areas of an image.

Section1: Everyday Image Editing Adjusting Image Size Cropping Straightening Image Size Retouching Healing Tools Adjustments Saving Printing Common image editing tasks that you’ll need to do with most images.

Aspect Ratio Apple with tape – clear and crisp (available in Image Collection as well) Screenshot – poorly cropped, didn’t maintain aspect ratio

Section 2: Selecting and Combining Images Layers Creating Working with Layers Transformations Layer Styles Text Tool Selection Selection Tools Editing Selections Section 2: Selecting and Combining Images

Layers Layers – allow different parts of an image to be edited without affecting the rest of the image. Layers stack on top of each other. Any area of a layer that is transparent will display the content on the layer(s) below. Advantages: Non-destructive Rework previous edits Can blend one image into another Add effects to an image Uses: combine two images together, isolate part of an image, add effects, text
