Interactive Science Notebook Set-Up

Labeling Your Tabs For each unit we study in Science, you will need a different section in your notebook. In these sections, you will be keeping all Warm Ups, Notes, Daily Activities, Assignments, Tests, Vocabulary, Exit Tickets, etc… (Pretty much anything you do during that unit)

6th Grade Labeling Your Tabs You will need to have 7 tabs/sections in your notebook. Label them as follows: Scientific Inquiry Matter/Chemistry Water Cycle/Oceans Food Web Adaptations Ecosystems Conservation

7th Grade Labeling Your Tabs You will need to have 7 tabs/sections in your notebook. Label them as follows: Major Geological Events Geological Time and History Multiple Lines of Evidence Cells Human Body Systems Photosynthesis & Cellular Respiration Separations of Mixtures

Daily Catch Each week, you are going to be given a “Daily Catch.” This activity has been created to provide you a place to set academic goals for yourself, a place to reflect on your progress in accomplishing your goals, as well as a place for you to demonstrate/summarize the skills and information that you learned that day. At the end of the week, you and your parent/gaurdian will reflect on the week. Logs will be collected each week for a grade.

Cornell Notes Date: Learning Target/Title: Subject/Title Notes or work

Vocabulary At the beginning of Each unit, you will need to print off vocabulary cards from my teacher page. You will then cut those cards out and keep them in an envelope on that specific units tab in your notebook. As part of closure, you will take the vocabulary card that we went over that day and draw a picture and write a definition. The cards will then be placed back into the envelope for games and practice later on in the unit.
