Africa Misconceptions Africa Geography Learning Target: SWBAT explain and describe the diversity of countries, peoples and geography that exist on the continent of Africa SWBAT explain and describe key physical and political geographic features of Africa in an annotated map.

Unit 3 Day 1 Africa Pre-test 1. In your table of contents under entry 18, write Unit 3 Day 1 Africa Misconceptions 2. Then open to a new page and draw a T-chart in your notebook. 2. Label it Africa Pre-test 3. On the left hand side, write down as many things that come to mind when you think of Africa. Use a line for each thing you write.  You should have at least three things.

Africa Pre-Test For each thing you wrote in the left hand column in the right hand column answer the question, Where in Africa? For example, if one of the responses is "elephants roaming free" ask "Where in Africa? In what country(s) on the continent of Africa do elephants roam free?"
