Still life Assignment 2 Use one of the still life drawings from your previous lesson and emphasize the negative space.

Suggestions: 1 Color negative space (background) and leave positive space (still life) in pencil.

Suggestion 2 Cut out still life and glue onto unlikely background (flower arrangement setting on beach or ocean, hat/boots in field of wildflowers)

Suggestion 3 Diminish or subtract details in positive space (still life) and have negative space (background) colorful and bright or detailed with pencil value.

Grading Criteria Negative space is an interesting shape/size 30 pts. Negative space is emphasized (stands out more than positive space) 30 pts. Choice of media (materials) for negative space is used well 25 pts. Craftsmanship (time, effort, neatness) 15 pts.
