Long before “selfie” was named The Word of the Year in 2013, humans, even those that claim to follow Jesus, have struggled with our natural tendencies towards selfishness and pride in light of the commands of Christ.

Luke 9:22 Jesus said, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.”

Christian friendships… We can “put to death” the selfish tendencies Through consistent time spent with Jesus, dedicated decisions, the power of The Holy Spirit and supportive Christian friendships… We can “put to death” the selfish tendencies in us that are doing us harm, disconnecting us from God & others.
