God action Israelites Complains Food Were they thankful? Meat God sent them “Manna”. It tasted like wafers made with honey . Meat God sent them birds to eat; these birds were called quails Water God brought them water out of the rock. Were they thankful? Were they thankful? Were they thankful?

Who is this? What did he do?

Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness?

The Lord sent fiery serpents among the people and they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died

Serpents are BAD!

Do you think God listened to them? People of Israel knew that they did something very bad. So they went to Moses to confess their sins. They asked Moses to intercede and pray to the Lord that He may remove the serpents from them and forgive them. Do you think God listened to them?

and He said to Moses: Yes, “Make a bronze serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live”.

So did the people die?

YES, ALL OF THEM DIED! NO, THEY DID NOT BECAUSE GOD IS MERCIFUL WRONG ANSWER NO, THEY DID NOT BECAUSE GOD IS MERCIFUL RIGHT ANSWER

If a serpent bit any one, he would look at the bronze serpent and live.

What is this looks like?

Similarities between Jesus Cross and the Bronze Serpent? 1- They were both put on a high place. “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up” John 3:14 2- They both gave life. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

What to learn from the Bronze Serpent Story ? To be thankful for everything. If I want something, I should requested in a polite way without complaining. Learn that confession and repentance is important for the forgiveness of sins. As Israelites asked Moses to pray for them, we have friends in heaven who we can ask them to pray for us.
