RISER PROJECT L, m, l/m kitchen

Why you are special! L/M Access plumbing thru your walk-in closet M Residents, the access to the L kitchen will be through yours

General information When you see floor protection in the main hall from the service elevator to your unit you know we will probably be there the next day to start removing the wall. floor Protection will be placed from your front door to your kitchen and will remain until your unit is complete Monday thru Friday, Work will start at 8am. Since the sinks must be functional before the plumbers leave, it may continue until after 5pm.

General information - continued At the end of each day there will be water in the kitchen There will be a lot of noise The service elevator will be used intermittently to bring in pipes, etc.

General information - continued Water will be shut off, in the kitchen, throughout the day When complete, the walls affected will be patched and prime coated Cabinets , sinks and countertops will be re-installed Ceiling to floor protection will be put up at M closet or kitchen and will remain for the duration of the project

Some positives… Cleaner water Hotter water Better water pressure Shut-off valves are concealed under the M sink or closet wall

Time line (using the term loosely) The first day the contractor makes the hole in the wall – starting on the 19th floor. they Plan to open 2 floors a day The following day the plumbers start working the plumbing and construction will take approximately 3-4 weeks All dates and times are subject to change without notice

How to prepare Provide a copy of your unit key, for L/M we need the key for the M door as well as the l door mark it clearly with unit number and Drop It in the office mail slot If you do not have a duplicate key – have one made All keys will be kept until after that riser is complete – you may not pick them up, at the end of each day Keys will be kept in the management office Remove any decorative key rings

How to prepare - continued Plumbers and contractors will be coming in and out of your units every day of the project If you have pets - who want to bolt out the front door - put them behind a closed door or gate Put a post-it note on your door telling the contractor that you have a pet or pets (how many?)

How to prepare - continued All of these ‘Housekeeping’ items should remain, in place for the duration of the riser Remove all of the clothes in your walk-in closet - your closet is 56” wide – we need 42” to move equipment and pipes If you have either the l door or m door blocked, remove the obstruction Remove everything around and under your sink Empty your dishwasher

How to prepare - continued Floors 5 & 10 m units remove everything from your countertops Floors 5 & 10 m units remove everything from your cabinets above the sink Cover the furniture in the work area
