Scientific and Technological Mayan Civilization Scientific and Technological

Science and Astronomy Between approx. 300 and 900 A.D., the Maya were responsible for a number of remarkable scientific achievements. During that time they developed a complex understanding of astronomy as well as figured out how to grow corn, bean, squash, and cassava in some inhospitable places. They also built elaborate cities without modern technology, how to communicate using one of the world’s first written language systems, and how to measure time with 2 complicated calendar systems. http://www.history.com/topics/mayan-scientific-achievements/videos/mayan-tear-gas http://www.history.com/topics/mayan-scientific-achievements/videos/where-did-it-come-from-the-ancient-maya---astronomy

Agriculture important things that Mayans ever did. Agriculture was one of the most important things that Mayans ever did. It allowed them to stay in one place and have much more food. It also allowed them to vary the food they ate. Mayans planted all kinds of plants like cassava, corns, beans, and squash.

Agriculture impacted the Mayans majorly. There population grew. They grew bigger and stronger. This also expanded the life expectancy. They planted the crops near the Yucatan Peninsula so they could easily get water for the crops.
