Water quality and quantity indicator

Improvement buffer capacity by 20% Definition: Target: Improvement buffer capacity by 20% Definition: In relevant pilots concepts and tools to increase buffer capacity by 20% will be developed, modelled and tested. In some area the focus is to increase water retention for dry periods and in other areas to increase drainage to provide space for water to lower flooding risks.

Target: Improvement of quality by 20% Definition: In relevant pilots methods and tools to increase water quality will be developed, modelled and tested. In some pilots the focus is on nutrients and hazardous components and in other the focus is on saline water contaminating the aquifers.

Meeting Denmark 2-4 Feb.

Result 2 – 4 Feb.

Conclusions: Big difference between pilots; Surface water or groundwater; Different compounds; Pollution historical or actual; Water quantity could be flooding or shortage; Improvement water measured or calculated; Improvement on the short term or long term; Technical measures, model results, awareness measures, policy advise; Field scale measures or catchment scale

Expected groundwater quality or quantity (Model A)
