Coal Mining Data Standard Sponsored by Office of Surface Mining, Department of the Interior, and partners Developed through ASTM International Formerly the American Society for Testing and Materials ANSI has accredited ASTM International to develop American National Standards ASTM International has authority to designate its standards as American National Standards, without approval by the ANSI Board of Standards Review (BSR) ASTM approved the Standard Practice for Minimum Geospatial Data for a Coal Surface Mining Permit Boundary on September 1, 2007 The standard will be forwarded to the FGDC Standards Working Group as a candidate for FGDC endorsement
