Luke 20 The Anointed King Begins His Reign BEGINNINGS

Why are the nations so angry? Why do they waste their time with futile plans? The kings of the earth prepare for battle; the rulers plot together against the LORD and against His Anointed one. Let us break their chains, they cry, and free ourselves from slavery to God. WHY DO THE NATIONS RAGE? ( PSALM 2:1-3)

Rejoice, O people of Zion! Shout in triumph, O people of Jerusalem! Look, your king is coming to you. He is righteous and victorious, yet he is humble, riding on a donkey riding on a donkeys colt. Zechariah 9:9 WHY DO THE NATIONS RAGE? ( PSALM 2:1-3)

Luke 19:45-46 Then Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out the people selling animals for sacrifices. He said to them, The Scriptures declare, My Temple will be a house of prayer, but you have turned it into a den of thieves.

Not the mad ravings of a religious zealot… After that, he taught daily in the Temple Luke 19:47 Wheres the police?

But the leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the other leaders of the people began planning how to kill him. Luke 19:47 But they could think of nothing, because all the people hung on every word he said. Luke 19:48

A den of thieves! Religious Con Artists I want nothing to do with religion!

Our Institutions Our Monuments

One day as Jesus was teaching the people and preaching the Good News in the Temple, the leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the elders came up to him. Luke 20:1 After that, he taught daily in the Temple…

They demanded, By what authority are you doing all these things? Who gave you the right? Luke 20:2

They demanded, By what authority are you doing all these things? Who gave you the right? Luke 20:2 People still say this Postmodernism

Let me ask you a question first, he replied. Did Johns authority to baptize come from heaven, or was it merely human? Luke 20:3-4 Not a dodge.. The heart of the issue Is God in charge?

Luke 20:5-6 They talked it over among themselves. If we say it was from heaven, he will ask why we didnt believe John. But if we say his authority was merely human, the people will stone us because they are convinced John was a prophet.

So they finally replied that they didnt know. Jesus responded, Then I wont tell you by what authority I do these things. Religious Mind Games Called HypocrisyGod Remains Silent Do not answer a fool according to his folly, Or you will also be like him. Proverbs 26:4

Luke 20:9f Now Jesus turned to the people again and told them this story: A man planted a vineyard, leased it to tenant farmers, and moved to another country to live for several years.

"At the harvest time he sent a slave to the vine-growers, so that they would give him some of the produce of the vineyard; but the vine-growers beat him and sent him away empty-handed. "And he proceeded to send another slave; and they beat him also and treated him shamefully and sent him away empty-handed. "And he proceeded to send a third; and this one also they wounded and cast out.

The owner of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; perhaps they will respect him. But when the vine-growers saw him, they reasoned with one another, saying, This is the heir; let us kill him so that the inheritance will be ours. So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. Vineyard: Nation Israel Tenants: Israels Leaders Bible History Messengers (Prophets) Owners Son…?

What, then, will the owner of the vineyard do to them? He will come and destroy these vine-growers and will give the vineyard to others! When they heard it, they said, "May it never be!" What, then, will the owner of the vineyard do to them? He will come and destroy these vine-growers and will give the vineyard to others! When they heard it, they said, "May it never be!" We would never kill the son! OR: The owner would never do that to us! What Are They Saying?

The Privileged The Usurpers Hell Exists For Good Reason The earth is the LORD'S, and all it contains, The world, and those who dwell in it. Psalm 24:1 "Naked I came from my mother's womb, And naked I shall return. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the name of the LORD." Job 1:21 "Naked I came from my mother's womb, And naked I shall return. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the name of the LORD." Job 1:21

But Jesus looked at them and said, What then is this that is written: 'THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED, THIS BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone'? Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; but on whomever it falls, it will scatter him like dust. Luke 20:17-18 Jesus Is The Chief Corner Stone Rejected Eternally Successful

Luke 20:17-18 "The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or, 'There it is!' For behold, the kingdom of God is within you." Luke 17:20-21

The scribes and the chief priests tried to lay hands on Him that very hour, and they feared the people; for they understood that He spoke this parable against them. So they watched Him, and sent spies who pretended to be righteous, in order that they might catch Him in some statement, so that they could deliver Him to the rule and the authority of the governor. They questioned Him, saying, "Teacher, we know that You speak and teach correctly, and You are not partial to any, but teach the way of God in truth. Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?"

But He detected their trickery and said to them, "Show Me a denarius. Whose likeness and inscription does it have?" They said, "Caesar's." And He said to them, "Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." And they were unable to catch Him in a saying in the presence of the people; and being amazed at His answer, they became silent. Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; but on whomever it falls, it will scatter him like dust.
