Exceptions to Mendel’s laws. 1) Incomplete dominance Some alleles are not completely dominant and the offspring will have a “blending” of the parents.

Incomplete or Co-Dominant?!?!. Normally traits have one dominant allele and one recessive allele…. What happens when an allele for a trait isn’t completely.
Beyond Dominant and Recessive Alleles. The whole story... Not all phenotypes are dictated by dominant and recessive alleles (in fact, very few are). Some.

Codominance and Incomplete Dominance

Codominance: both traits are expressed (in animals) Ex: human blood type AB makes both anitgen A and antigen B

Ex: Cattle RR – red (rusty brown) WW- white RW- Roan (red and white) *Not Pink P1 = WW x RW

Incomplete dominance: one does not. completely hide the other, Incomplete dominance: one does not completely hide the other, traits blend (in plants) Ex: flowers P1 = RR x RW RR - red WW - white RW - pink

Four o’clocks are flowers that exhibit incomplete dominance
