Britton’s and Wilson’s BREAKING NEWSletter January 9th-13th ELA:  We are going to read a nonfiction text titled Sonia Sotomayor. We are going to finish revising and editing our rough drafts. In grammar, our skill for the week is verbs and adverbs. Vocabulary: Unexpected: “not expected.” If something is unexpected it is surprising. You did not expect, or think, that it would happen. Abandon: “leave and not return.” Industrious: “hardworking.” Comfy: “comfortable.” Successful: If you are successful, you do what you set out to do or do something well. Unsuccessful: “not successful.” If you are unsuccessful, you do not accomplish what you set out to do. Math: Our math skill this week, Monday thru Wednesday is interpreting graphs. We start fractions on Thursday. Announcements: Honors Program this Friday, January 13th at 8. Parents are invited. Yearbooks are on sale for $35. Get yours now. ELA: Reading Comprehension Assessment on Friday, January 13th Please encourage your child to practice skills on mobymax.com as much as possible! Math Homework Mon. – Review Practice page Tues.- Test tomorrow. Review Study Guide. Wed.- Review Practice page Thurs. – Review Practice page Be sure to encourage your child to read each night. They should be reading at least 20 minutes. Ask your child about what they are reading and what is happening in their book. They love to share their reading knowledge with you!
