-ism (Greek noun suffix) – ismos and Means Roughly the Act, State, or Theory of -ist(suffix) – indicates a person involved in the activity or field. -Ist means someone who does something. The suffix ist connotes "one who is skilled in something" or somebody who is involved in a particular field of study. Evangel (prefix) – Greek root is the word angel which means messenger. Examples of its use are evangel and archangel.

Evangelism is an act performed by evangelists (messengers) skilled in the activity of sharing the Good News of Jesus (the Gospel) with others.

Sharing the ABCs of Salvation: A =Acknowledge/admit you are a sinner. B = Believe in your heart that Jesus died for you. C = Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.
