Emily Kame Kngwarreye Emily’s Dreaming

Emily painted for 6 years and created about 3,000 works of art.

Emily believed in preserving her ancient culture including traditional art forms as well as expressing herself in more modern abstract art styles.

In many of her paintings Emily used a paint brush to paint curved intersecting lines. In each painting she used a color scheme- colors that look good together.

Emily’s line paintings are exciting Emily’s line paintings are exciting. All the intersecting lines show movement.

Emily often used a black background for contrast so her colored lines would stand out.
