How to set up the Flexmort CuddleCot™

First ensure you have everything you should Shnuggle™ easy clean basket with stand, cosy mattress & dressing CuddleCot™ cooling unit Two soft cool pads; 1 standard for full term & 1 small pad for premature 3’ / 900mm Hose Foil coated insulation Small bottle of biocide Drain Key Instruction manual

Place the foil insulation on top of the mattress

Then the cool pad

Then the dressing if you have purchased this

Connect the hose and pad as shown these will ‘click’ into place

Push the hose into the unit, again you will hear a ‘click’

Turn the unit on and select °F or °C

The CuddleCot™ display will show the approximate ambient temperature when first turned on

You may need to fill the CuddleCot, a flashing drip will light up Use only purified water, such as distilled water

Remove the filler cap

Add two drops of the biocide each time the unit filled

The fluid will show in the reservoir window, and will drop as the cool pad is filled Stop filling when the fluid is between ⅓ & ⅔

Press the down arrow until the display shows 8°C or 46°F then the enter button The CuddleCot will cool to around 10°C or 50°F

The CuddleCot™ is now fully operational

We often get asked how long parents can spend with their baby using the CuddleCot, most families in hospitals use the CuddleCot for 1-3 days but we know of some families at hospices and at home have used the CuddleCot for 3 weeks. Baby should be placed on top of the cool pad, baby can be dressed, or wrapped in swaddling. Blankets should be placed over baby as this helps with the cooling process.

Once the CuddleCot is no longer required turn the unit off

Disconnect by pressing the blue buttons

it is important to press the ‘hose release’ button underneath the unit, whilst pressing the button gently pull the hose from the unit. Failure to press the button will damage the unit!

Drain the unit using the supplied drain key

The CuddleCot can be cleaned with any standard plastic safe sanitiser

You can also contact us at info@flexmort You can also contact us at info@flexmort.com and we will be happy to confirm the suitability of your current cleaner

The dressing and the mattress cover are designed to be laundered The dressing at 30° C / 86°F and the mattress cover at 60° C / 140°F You don’t have to use the dressing or mattress, if it is easier simply place a blanket in the basket/bassinett

Troubleshooting the Flexmort CuddleCot™

If the Flexmort CuddleCot™ fails to cool

First check the fan cover is clear of dust, this can affect the performance of the cooling unit

There may also be an airlock

With the CuddleCot™ turned on remove the filler cap Remove the cool pad from the basket

Roll the cool pad up as shown towards the hose, the fluid may increase in the reservoir window, this is normal Then release the cool pad, you may need to do this a few times. If the air lock has been removed the temperature will decrease within a few minutes

If it is still not cooling!

If the temperature is still not decreasing empty the Cuddlecot™ using the drain key and refill the unit while it is turned on. This will help to remove a stubborn airlock. If there is fluid leaking from the unit check that the hose release button has not been damaged
