What is a GigaPop? A “GigaPoP” is a network access point that support data transfer rates of at least 1Gbps. GigaPoP is short for gigabit Point of Presence. Aggregate local to exchange peer gigaPoPs.

UNM/ABQG Vision To offer New Mexicans access to high quality education, research, service programs, and economic development opportunities. To serve as a significant knowledge resource for New Mexico, the nation and the world.

What is ABQG? Non-profit initiative owned and operated by UNM established in 2007; 1of 35 research and education networks in the US; now 57; 1 of the 13 founding members of the NLR; Serves as an aggregation point for local networks; education & research institutes; non-profit entities; and commercial ISP Facilitate and build network interconnection; Provide internet services for unserved and underserved communities Is a high-speed and high-volume bandwidth to support work in…

High Speed and Low Cost These terms are relative On Campus some have10Gb/s shared, with a 1Gb/s connection at the desktop, some with shared 1Gb/s, or even a few with 100Mb/s shared. 50Mb/s download from Comcast at home for $99.99 per month, if you are lucky. About $2 per Megabit
