Bucket 1 Bucket 2 Bucket 3 1 3 4 5 6 7 8 English Double-weighted* Maths Double-weighted EBacc qualifications (Sciences, Computer Science, Geography, History and Languages) ‘Open group’ Remaining qualifications and other approved qualifications (GCSEs and other approved academic, arts or vocational qualifications) *Higher score of English Language or English Literature double-weighted if a student has taken both qualifications 2

They are really hard! English- 4 papers- 6 hours 50 minutes Maths- 3 papers-4 hours 30 minutes Science (Trilogy) 3 papers- 3 hours 45 minutes Science (Separates) 3 papers- 5 hours 15 minutes.

English Literature Texts Paper 1: Section A: Shakespeare- Macbeth/Romeo & Juliet Section B: Pre 20th Century Novel- A Christmas Carol/Pride & Prejudice Paper 2: Section A: Modern texts- An Inspector Calls/Blood Brothers/DNA/Animal Farm Section B: Power and Conflict Poetry Comparison Section C: Unseen Poetry Section D: Unseen Poetry Comparison These are ALL closed texts exams- so your child will need to know several quotations for each of the texts he/she is studying! Get some Post its, Revision cards, Use GCSE Pod, Pixl Lit App, You tube, Voice recorders, images. Whatever works for you!
