This map shows the area that is known as Mesopotamia Label as much of the geography as you can recognize. Check your answers on the next slide and fill in the details

Where was Gilgamesh’s City? Use your text and find out the city that Gilgamesh was from. This is your starting point. We’re now going to map out his journey up to where you have read for today

Where was Enkidu From? Steppe: an ecoregion characterized by grassland plains without trees apart from those near rivers and lakes Which direction from Gilgamesh’s city do you think Enkidu was from? Why? (Hint: You can use google earth/maps). Make a note of where you think Enkidu was from on your map. Why do you think people at the time would associate this area with the wilderness?
