Mrs. Kay Virginia Lurry How did you become a teacher: My mother was a librarian and my older brother was a principal. They influenced my decision to become a teacher as I watched them interact with students. I also wanted to spend as much time as possible with my girls when they were in school. We all went to school to together.

How long have you been teaching? I have been teaching for 20 years. 15 at Sicily Island Elementary and 5 years at Erath.

What was your childhood like? I had a very happy childhood I have an older sister and brother. Honestly, I was very spoiled as the baby of the family.

What age did you become a teacher? I became a teacher when I was 24. My oldest daughter started kindergarten my first year. I later took night classes and went to school in the summer to get my masters degree.

What is your favorite subject to teach In Sicily Island I taught all subjects and I still love math and reading.

I choose Mrs. Lurry because She is very nice. 

My favorite memory of her is When she played movies.

I like When she danced for us.

I learned that language is sometimes cool from her.
