The presence of DNA of human papillomavirus (HPV) types 1, 2, and 4 was determined by PCR using HPV type–specific primers as described in the text. Lanes 1 through 10 correspond to the PCR amplification products for the emery boards. Lanes T1 and T2 correspond to the negative controls for the DNA extraction and the PCR amplification.
