Communication with Home The Messenger: Every day, your child will bring home a two- pocket portfolio Please go through The Messenger every day with your child Take out any papers your child brings home- DAILY

Communication with Home Seesaw Gives families an immediate and personalized window into their child’s school day Please sign up I will send out information soon Newsletters Monthly Email I usually send some form of email update

Communication with Home I Can Read Binder: Every Friday your child will bring home a three-ring binder Filled with poems and songs worked on in class Please read this binder to and with your child throughout the weekend Return it to school on Monday

Communication with Home Homework: Monthly homework sheet It will come home at the beginning of each month and then due back at the end of each month If you believe your child needs more stimulation than what is provided by me I encourage you to get your child involved in a sports or music lesson

Communication with Home Read-At-Home Books: An opportunity for your child to bring home a book on your child’s reading level Begins in December

Lunch Lunch will be after recess 20 minutes in lunchroom Email if you have lunch concerns Lunch Cost: $2.75/student- Includes milk Adult Lunch Cost: $4.50 Milk .60

Lunch Hot Lunch: Please download a monthly lunch calendar from the website Decide which days your child will buy hot lunch and pay for those lunches once a month Payments can be made online or by sending a check to school in a labeled envelope If your child does not bring a lunch, the lunchroom will provide your child with one and you will be charged

Cold Lunch If student brings lunch Milk Money: .60 Chocolate and White Lunch box and not a bag Milk Money: .60 Chocolate and White Send milk money in a Ziplock bag or container in your child’s lunch box Your child will pay for their milk in the lunchroom

Snacks AM and PM snack daily A snack schedule will be sent out each month Healthy snack I cannot serve treats as a snack (i.e. cookies, rice crispy treats, chips, etc.) I will not be able to pass them out Fruit, crackers, go-gurt, veggies, cheese, vegetables, fruit leathers, pretzels, goldfish Hand sanitizer donations are always welcome

Classroom Schedule Mon-Fri 8:25AM-8:40 You may drop off your child at school 8:40 Students allowed in classroom ****PARENTS NOT ALLOWED INTO CLASSROOM!**** 8:40 School begins (If you are later than 8:40, you must park and check your child in at the office) 9:45 AM Recess 11:10 Lunch Recess 11:25 Lunch 1:20 PM Recess 2:05- 2:35 Specialist Music – T & F STEM/ART – Th PE – M & W 3:05 Kindergarten Dismissed (3:00 for the first week or two) Fridays they will be dismissed at 1:30 (BUT NOT THIS FRIDAY)

Leaving Early/Picking up from School/Volunteering Parents need to enter the school from the main lobby Check in there if volunteering and receive your visitor sticker Picking up early Go to office and sign your child out The office will contact me and I will send your child to the office

1st Day Of School Exceptions We encourage you to allow your child to follow their normal routine on the 1st day You can follow the bus to LWES on the first day of school Meet your child as they leave the bus I will be in the front of LWES with a raccoon flag in the plaza Please park in the parking lot Either in the front or down below This is the time to Take a picture Give them one last hug Tell them you will see them at the end of the day Send them into the classroom with the teacher

Changing your Child’s Route Home Backpack name tag Make sure your backpack nametag is correct Attach it to your child’s backpack on the 1st day of school I CANNOT CHANGE YOUR CHILD’S REGULAR TRANSPORTATION WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM YOU Any time your child’s normal route changes… You must send a note or call the office Say where your child is going Say who is picking up Say what time Use pick-up passes and bus passes provided by the office

Walker versus Car Pick-up Car Curbside (everyday) Have a LWES pass in your mirror Follow the signs to the front pick area Wait in your car and para will bring your child to you You may need to provide identification Walker (everyday) Either walking to LWES or parking down below and walking up Pick up your child in the plaza Your child will be in the office if you are late

Picking Your Child Up I will take ALL the students with me at the end of the day 1. Curbside Parent Pick/Day Care (Picking up your child inside a car) 3:05 for Kindergarten (3:00 1st few weeks) 2. Buses 3. EEP 4. Walkers Occasional Pick-Up Send a note or call no later than 2:30 Pick up in the front

Absences from School Please call 425-413-3500, press or say 2, then press or say 1 That will automatically put you into the voice mail At that point Leave the name of the student(s), the teacher(s) name and the reason for the absence Contact the office each day that your child is absent If you are going on vacation, please get a prearranged absence form online at the LW website I can provide tasks for child to do while on vacation

Birthdays If you would like to celebrate your child’s birthday at school You may bring in a non-food item to share with the class Examples: One sticker, one pencil, one eraser, etc. Please DO NOT send in food treats for the class Food items will not be passed out to the students This is a Tahoma School District policy If your child has a summer birthday I will coordinate a date with you to celebrate their ½ birthday sometime during the school year

T-Shirts We wear these shirts on Raccoon Pride Fridays Field trips Assemblies Other important days I have order forms today Write a check or cash for $9.00

Parent Volunteers In-class volunteers will begin at the beginning of October Please send me an email if your want to volunteer on a regular basis No siblings are allowed in the classroom when you are volunteering Volunteer paperwork must be turned in and you must be approved by the state prior to volunteering in the classroom or attending a field trip Paperwork is located on the Tahoma website or in the front office

Sending Money To School Any time you send money lunch, field trips, or for any other reason Please put money in a sealed envelope or ziplock bag Mark it with your child’s name What the money is to be used for

Contacting Mrs. Robinson The best way to contact me is via email at brobinso@tahomasd.us I check my email throughout the day You may also call 425-413-3290 ex. 9580 Leave a message for me These messages now go to my email as well You may send a note to school with your child I will teach the students to empty their Messengers every morning But if they forget, there is always a chance I will not receive the note in a timely manner Call the office if I HAVE to know the info before school ends
