Leadership Seminar June 29 – 31, 2018 Bill Van Horn Program Director

Changes Supreme is replacing the “Surge with Service” program model with a new “Faith In Action” program model This will take effect for the 2018-2019 Fraternal Year. The new model is expected to be fully implemented by July 1 The new programs will be Faith, Family, Community and Life Councils will no longer need to appoint a Youth or Council Director The good news is this will reduce the number of programs required to earn the Columbian award. There will be 4 programs in 4 categories, totaling 16 programs, instead of the old 24 programs across 6 categories

Faith Programs New Programs: Spiritual Reflection Program (Required) Holy Hour Sacramental Gifts Supreme Recommended Programs: RSVP Into the Breach Marian Icon Prayer Program Building the Domestic Church Kiosk Rosary Program

Family Programs New Programs: Consecration to the Holy Family (Required) Family Prayer Night Good Friday Family Promotion Supreme Recommended Programs: Food for Families Family of the Month/Year Keep Christ in Christmas Family Fully Alive Family Week

Community Programs New Programs: Helping Hands (Required) Supreme Recommended Programs: Coats for Kids Global Wheelchair Mission Habitat for Humanity Disaster Preparedness Free Throw Championship Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest Soccer Challenge

Life Programs New Programs: Novena for Life (Required) Mass for People with Special Needs Pregnancy Center Support Supreme Recommended Programs: March for Life Special Olympics Ultrasound Program Christian Refugee Relief Silver Rose

This year: As we transition to the new model On the State Level, State Deputy Dale Trott has decided to keep the Council and Youth Activities Directors in place this year to alleviate confusion during the change. Council Activities will continue to cover the Columbus Day Ball and Parade, Incentive Raffle and Knights of Columbus License Plates. Most of the Youth Activities, as we know them, have been relocated to Family and Community Activities. While the Maryland State Council still recognizes Council and Youth Activities Directors, reports to State or Supreme will not be submitted under those categories.
