WHAT IS DANTES? The Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) is a DOD organization created to help service members pursue their educational goals and earn the degrees or certification they deserve while continuing to serve their country.

DANTES offers information and support for numerous “Non-Traditional” ways to pursue these academic and vocational goals including information about courses taught through: Email Internet Mobile Devices Podcast Print based Correspondence Satellite Television
Dantes offers programs such as: Certification Programs Counselor Support Programs Tuition Assistance Programs Higher Education Programs Reserve Component Programs Scholarships for Severely Injured Service Members
Other programs offered include: College Level Examination Program (CLEP): - CLEP offers a series of 33 exams that let the TSM earn a college credit for introductory-level classes. DANTES Standardized Tests (DSSTs): - DSSTs program is an extensive series of examinations in college subjects that are comparable to the final or end-of-course examinations in undergraduate courses. Troops to Teachers: - Offers careers in public education as a teacher. Military personnel, active and reserve, may receive assistance to pursue a new career in public education as teachers.
