Year 5 Trewern Meeting April 2016

Agenda What is Trewern? Why should your child go? What do we do there? What will they need? How much does it cost? Questions?

What is Trewern? Large manor house in Hay on Wye, Wales Owned and run by LBBD Staffed by fully qualified, trained teachers (unlike other outdoor centres) Local river (River Wye) and caves (Porth yr Ogof) and waterfalls used for activities

Why should your child go? Fully enriching experience, where children are taught a range of transferable skills Overcoming challenges in a safe environment Independence (important skill in Year 6) FUN!

What do we do there? Teambuilding Muddy puddle jump Canoeing Climbing wall Gorge walking Caving

What the children think:

Dates Bonham and St George – joint visit Monday 12th to Friday 16th June 2017

Cost and Payment £250 - covers accommodation, food tuition, equipment and a contribution towards the coach (school pays for the rest of the cost of the coach). £30 non-refundable deposit – first come first served basis. We will keep a reserve list. Deposits to be collected from Monday 25th April and last day is Tuesday 3rd May.Pay money to the office please. Balance of £220 is due Friday, 10th March 2017. We can take a minimum of 30 children and a maximum of 47.
