We will swim through non-fiction literature and media to discover the characteristics of the unique creatures that call the ocean their home. Our high frequency words for this week are: with, my. We will continue Unit 6 this week: Place Value and Exploring Teen Numbers. The students will understand the foundation of place value as it relates to numbers 11-19. They will be able to compose and decompose numbers 11-19 into ten ones and one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine ones by using drawings or objects. Volunteers worked tirelessly this past weekend moving dirt and laying stones for this beautiful addition to our school. Remember, if you can donate any monkey grass from your own yard, please send it in a grocery bag with your student and we will add it to our garden.
