Figure 1 A model for the selective recruitment of Th1 cells to inflammatory sites. Functional E-  and P-selectin-binding ligands are expressed only on Th1 cells (yellow), and not on naive (grey) or Th2 (orange) cells. These ligands bind to E-  and P-selectin, which are upregulated on the surface of vascular endothelial cells in response to inflammatory cytokines.
