UWE Two Tier Examining Board Process Field Board – considers and approves the marks for all modules and awards the associated credit. Award Board – makes decisions on the eligibility of students for awards based upon their results. It also considers any actions that may be required due to a student’s accepted personal circumstances.

Field board A Field Board is responsible for: Ensuring assessments are properly scrutinised and marked; Ensuring assessments are properly conducted; Considering the impact of adverse circumstances affecting the delivery or assessment on the performance of a cohort or sub cohort; The mark/decision to pass/not pass in respect of each student; The award of credit where assessed performance meets the minimum threshold for a pass in accordance with the Academic Regulations; Any matters arising from the analysis of statistics presented to the board, including discussions on quality and enhancement.

Field Board SharePoint sites External Examiner trackers Tool for staff in SAT/Partnerships Team to provide detailed module assessment information to our External Examiners (EE). It will tell EEs when samples of work will be(approximately) made available and allow staff to track what has or hasn’t been externally moderated throughout the academic year (AY). Demo When all marks are in, you will be sent the Field Board report Field Board reports Module Leaders check and confirm marks External Examiners will be sent a link when available Grouped by Field within department Available at the Field Board if needed

Award Board An Award Board is responsible for: Confirming eligibility of a student for an award; Considering the effect of personal circumstances on a student in relation to an award or progression; Considering progression of a student to further study for an award; Classification of honours Satisfaction of additional requirements such as professional recognition or accreditation for employment or practice; Noting assessment offence penalties Students who have not passed 50% of the credit presented to the board; to permit them to enrol on 150 credits at any one time at their next enrolment
