Not only has she studied abroad twice, one of her core interests in research and teaching is international sojourning. Specifically, she studies students who study abroad! She has taught numerous courses on intercultural communication and international sojourning and even preparatory courses for students who study abroad. She has published her research on study abroad in international journals and presented and conducted research all over the globe including France, Mexico, The Netherlands, Australia, The UK, South Africa, China, Canada, and beyond! It is not often that a person's personal interests and career interests are the same, but for Dr. Pitts, study abroad is not just a personal passion - her career is built upon it!

Cost Federal Aid can be applied to cost of program UA tuition, housing and excursions are included in cost The cost of the program is ~$5,000 (summer) or ~$9,500 (fall)

Testimonials The fact that this program takes place in a small hill town in the heart of Italy really allows you to get to know the true Italy. I was able to take three theory courses for my major and an elective. By choosing this program I was able to stick to my four year graduation plan.

Testimonials The classes kept us on track with schooling but gave us freedom to travel. I feel more confident communicating with people from other countries… studying abroad has changed my life in ways I cannot explain. It was the best decision I have ever made.
