Novel studies for our classes

HTMS STEM CONNECTION Reading will be more inter-related with content areas. First nine weeks is aligned with social studies and the study of the middle eastern region of the world. This is why your students read The Breadwinner over the summer. We will tie in more non-fiction current event articles. Second nine weeks is the class novel The Outsiders. We will focus on literary skills. Third nine weeks we will read The Giver and connect to the study of genetics in science. The last nine weeks we will read All of the Above which has a math connection.
