Benefits of modern apprenticeships “The biggest benefit for me, is to enable me a formal route to qualifications after changing industry in my late thirties”. – Rachel

Benefits of modern apprenticeships “A modern apprenticeship has given me a fantastic opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the construction industry. The hands- on experience has allowed me to put my skills into practice while working on variety of different projects for example the House of Parliament. This has given me the confidence to start managing my own project, so I would highly recommend doing an apprenticeship!” - Matt

Benefits of modern apprenticeships “Provides an alternative to university and sixth form. It’s a different way of learning e.g. learning on the job and course work. In my opinion this suits people a lot better than exams as you can draw upon personal experiences as well as text book answers. It shows you can be successful without a degree!!! Which I know my sixth form had old school thinking in that you needed to go to university in order to succeed. It’s a good way in to many different industries and allows you to work your way up the career ladder. I was fully qualified with additional qualifications by the time all my friends had finished university and were looking for jobs”. - Amy

Benefits of modern apprenticeships “Earning while you’re learning, as it sounds, gaining skills that are up to date and being practically employed at the same time. The thought of being in thousands of debt from University. I imagine, can be a struggle, having a burden on you till you’ve gained experience to get a well-paid job”. - Ed
