Musical Instruments Each person had a role: Drums made of gold or wood Beater Blower Drum Beater Shell Trumpet Blower Drums made of gold or wood Flutes made of reed or bone Trumpet made of shell or ceramic Rattle made of wood or ceramic Each instrument symbolized a character
Sculptures Aztecs had 2 types Small: Large: Represent animals Almost 2 cm high Large: Represent humans or gods
Paintings Colors symbolized information Religious and decorative
Writings Records found in Aztec libraries Nahuatl writing = pictograph and hieroglyphic Nahuatl writing was symbols for characters
