All About Your Teacher Mr. Zindman I have been a Special Education Teacher for many years. I Graduated Penn State, Stony Brook and Hofstra Universities. I am Experienced in meeting the needs of students with special needs. I love teaching middle school students

Our Class Teaching Assistant Ms Denny Has been a Special Education Teacher Assistant for many years. Ms. Denny has a wide array of experiences working with students with special needs. Is a college graduate. Is a New York State Certified Teaching Assistant. Loves to work with middle school students.

Social Studies Curriculum 6th Graders will learn about World History. 7th Graders will learn about U.S History from Prehistory to the Civil War. 8th Graders will learn about U.S. History from the Civil War to today. All students will learn about U.S History using technology and class discussions.

Materials One inch 3-ring binder Lose-leaf paper 1 Plastic folder 2 pens (pencil case)

Textbook We will be using the textbook, America-History of Our Nation or the History of Our World. The textbook will stay home and be returned in June. Most homework assignments will be completed from the textbook. A receipt for the textbook must be signed by a parent. 7th and 8th grade students have been provided with a web link for the textbook on my class syllabus.

Social Studies Grading Policy Your child’s grading will be determined in the following manner: 10% For class notes. 60% Test scores and computer web based activities. 30% Homework. 1000% Quarter grade Midterm and final exams account for 33 % of your final grade! Total: 100% of your grade

HOMEWORK Social Studies homework is based upon the reinforcement of class lessons and the Common Core Curriculum. All assignments are provided for each student on paper. You need a textbook to complete all homework assignments! All homework activities is available for your perusal at www.mrzindman.com . Just click on the homework tab.
