Alpha Electro Trainer Second generation Electric-Powered Trainer – flying in Europe. The EAA, AOPA, and Pipistrel are working with the FAA on an exemption to allow training in electric-powered two-place aircraft.

Our Alpha Electro Trainers in Production at Factory Charger circuits are installed at Fresno Chandler Airport and Reedley Airport. CALSTART is assisting Mendota get approval for a revised Airport Layout Plan with FAA for the added hangars and installation of the charger circuit. Mendota has purchased one used Port-a-Hangar in Fresno and it has been transported to Mendota Airport for assembly following approval of the revised ALP. A large hangar at Fresno Chandler Airport will be used for the first few months after the aircraft arrive as a base for operations. The Alpha Electro Trainer panel is just like the panel in Jim Pearsall’s gas Alpha trainer, except for the Propulsion Monitoring panel at the right.
