TIP #1 – BE PREPARED WITH PAPER AND PENCIL

TIP #2 - USE A LANDLINE OR MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE IN A SPOT IN WHICH YOU WILL NOT LOOSE YOUR SIGNAL. DO NOT DRIVE WHILE ON A TELEPHONE INTERVIEW!

TIP #3 – HAVE YOUR RESUME IN CLEAR VIEW

TIP #4 – MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO DISTRACTIONS IN THE ROOM. TURN OFF YOUR CALL WAITING

TIP #5 – NO SMOKING, CHEWING GUM, EATING OR DRINKING (BUT DO HAVE A BOTTLE OF WATER CLOSE BY IN CASE YOU DO BECOME DRY-MOUTHED)

TIP #6 – SMILE WHEN YOU ARE TALKING Believe it or not – smiling will project a positive image to the listener. It changes the tone of your voice.

Tip #7 – Speak slowly, and enunciate (put endings on the ends of your words) Tip #8 – Always use the persons title (Mr., Ms., Dr., … and their last name). Only use their first if they ask you to do so. Tip #9 – Do not interrupt the interviewer Tip #10 – Take your time answering the questions – and give short answers
