What characterizes Porto Cesareo is a beautiful beach that continues uninterruptedly for 17 kilometers and in front of the town beach an archipelago of little islands rises from the sea, that is often reflected by calm, crystal clear and unpolluted waters.

The charm of Porto Cesareo is amplified through its crystal clear waters and long beaches of natural sand dunes covered in Mediterranean spots. The coastal area is full of hotels and accommodation, with large parking lots to accommodate the cars of thousands of tourists who every year flock to its beaches. Nevertheless, there are some areas of free beach.

A bit of history..... Porto Cesareo has ancient origins and was already known in the Pre-Roman time as Portus Sasinae, that was founded by the inhabitants of Saseno, which are small islands near Vlora, Albania. In the early twentieth century the agricultural hinterland and the surrounding area (called Arneo) was entirely reclaimed, beginning to be relevant not only as a small port but also as a seaside resort. In recent decades its importance has grown remarkably with the fish market and especially because it’s a holiday resort that now has over 17 km of thin sand beaches and a protected marine area.
