Blue Lights Beacons of Safety?

Background ISU Crime Report shows that the crime rate at ISU is very low Most crime that does happen is in the residence halls Put in on ISU campus in 1992 Original 18 strategically spread across campus, there are now 26 Proactive step to increase campus safety Very little information on blue lights available to public

Student Opinions Overall, are very unaware of the blue lights Think they are ineffective and outdated Most students interviewed said they would be more likely to use their cell phone in time of emergency rather than the emergency phones

Chief of Police Opinions contradiction to student opinions Thinks blue lights are effective tools “No, they aren’t used very often, but, hey, that’s a good thing.”
