Effective Group Work Strategies 1. Be involved 2. Establish Common Goal 3. Assign jobs/roles 4. Respect and share opinions 5. Have good manners

What do I do when…. Someone isn’t doing their job? Remind them politely of their responsibility. See if there’s anything you can do to help them. If they don’t respond, let the teacher know. Someone is bossing everyone else around? Don’t let them take over. Make sure to acknowledge their ideas. Remind them it’s a group project, and everyone needs to be involved. Someone in the group is different? Be nice to them, try your best to help them feel comfortable, and remember you just have to be able to complete the assignment together. (You are not required to be best friends)

REINDEER TEMPLATE ROUND 2 This time you get 3 minutes to plan a strategy with your group. Rocket Timer Remember the effective group work strategies and the group rules we just went over. You get 5 minutes to make as many reindeers as possible.

THUMBS UP OR THUMBS DOWN 1. My group worked fairly well for our second try. 2. I could have done better working on my own. 3. My group communicated well. 4. My group might be able to improve on a few things. 5. I enjoy working with a group.
