HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM…

Are we willing to tackle church planting’s dirty little secret? Church planting is “ the single most effective evangelistic methodology under heaven.” C. Peter Wagner But… It ain’t necessarily so!

How are YOUR church plants growing? BIOLOGICAL GROWTH TRANSFER GROWTH* PRODIGAL GROWTH CONVERSION GROWTH

Houston we have a problem

Houston we have a problem

Houston,we have a problem “According to a recent Lifeway Research Study, in the next seven years 55,000 churches in the United States will close their doors, and the number of those who attend church on the weekend in the United States will drop from 17 percent to 14 percent. Only 20 percent of the churches in the U.S. are growing, and only 1 percent are growing by reaching lost people. So most of the church growth we celebrate merely shuffles existing Christians around” - J.D. Greear –Gaining By Losing

CAN WE RAISE UP A GENERATION OF PLANTERS WHO WILL FOLLOW IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF VINCENT DONOVAN? Donovan left the security and provider-client ethos of the mission compound. He met Masai on their territory, on their terms. He went “naked,” “to plant the seed of the gospel in Masai culture and let it grow wild.”

What will it take to increase the evangelistic potency of our church plants?? Planting gospel centered churches Identifying and deploying evangelists as church planters Planting with leaders who have demonstrable evangelistic fruitfulness Recalibrating assessments, training and coaching practices Responding to a shifting landscape

WHAT IS THE “RIGHT STUFF” FOR greater evangelistic fruitfulness?
