Unified Messaging/ IP Telephony Phase II Roadmap Where are we today? Where are we going? UM Roadmap IP Telephony Phase II IP Telephony rollout Questions

Where are we today? 5,000 lines on Cisco call manager 5,000 lines on AT&T Centrex 800 lines on CVM Nortel PBX Octel voice mail system at CVM Octel voic system on main campus

Where are we going? Cisco Unity Unified Messaging deployment IPT conversion phase II

UM Roadmap Licenses/software purchased July 2010 Two servers and switch interface devices being configured interface being discussed (Integrated, IMAP, store/forward) Data collection in progress (phone #, address, unity ID) Customer education & set-up Go live December 2010

UM Roadmap Octel (legacy) voic will remain online for 30 days We intend to deploy Octel emulation and web interface

IP Telephony Phase II During FY 07/08 & 08/09 more than 5,000 analog telephone lines were converted from AT&T Centrex service to the ComTech supported Cisco Call Manager (IP Telephony rollout) Phase I. This has resulted in an annual savings of over $300,000. Approximately 5,000 digital Centrex and analog lines remain on the AT&T network. A cost model has been developed that reveals that we could convert them from AT&T Centrex, replace these 5,000 telephone sets with Cisco IP sets, deploy Ciscos Unified Communications suite, and expect a ROI of less than five years which would then result in a cost savings to the university.

IP Telephony Phase II Fully funded by OIT All Meridian digital sets All analog sets with appearances on Meridian sets All analog sets not converted as part of phase I Fax lines NOT elevators, fire alarms, security alarms, blue lights, freezer/lab sensors, analog lines already converted to IPT, etc

IP Telephony Phase II rollout Soft rollout February 2011 Terry Center CVM Buildings with Wireless Nomad deployments

IP Telephony Phase II rollout Full deployment underway June telephone sets per week 12 month duration Data collection (touch every telephone to be transitioned) Update E-911, ITRACS, Mysoft Deployment of sets

IP Telephony Phase II Rollout? Clean-up, retrieve Meridian sets for trade-in User training
