A special note from the teachers! KC Hello parents! Math: we are adding and subtracting numbers, working on numbers before and after 1- 100, and solving word problems. Reading: learning more high-frequency words, 155 words on our word wall, 200 by June! Reading Dr. Seuss, books with a partner. ELA- writing: complete sentences and learning correct punctuation. Writing sentences 5’x a week. Social Studies & Science: learning about different types of weather and its effect; and what we can do to ensure a better life for people around us, and in the future. Ms. Taylor 1A Greetings from 1A. This month in Language Arts we will continue learning about adjectives that compare, synonyms and antonyms, and prepositions. Reading: we improving our comprehension skills by practicing strategies of asking questions, analyzing story, summarizing, and skills of compare and contrast, making inferences, sequence of events, cause and effect. Science: we are discussing basic Food chains in our ecosystem. Social Studies: we are discussing producers and consumers. Ms. Carson 3A Grade Dear Parents, Third-grade continues to work on STAAR. We are working in STAAR Ready Math and STAAR Ready Reading books. Our STAAR strategies are PLORE for reading and CUBES for math. Third-grade students are preparing and working hard to succeed on STAAR. Ms. McLaurin ESL ESL News at Scyene This month we are working on identifying and reading the ABC’s in Pre-K, and the commonly seen words in K-3rd Grade. 2nd-3rd has begun discussing and learning to read vocabulary they see in their assignments and tests. Pre-K will share things they do with family and friends . We will work on our writing skills, including simple sentence in K-3rd. K-3rd will also be working on their reading skills, working to read and understand. Mr. Bryan Pre-K A B and C Spring Greetings, Pre-K Students are having a great time learning new things. They are learning what adjectives are as well as continuing to learn how to write simple sentences. Math: we are learning about Geometric shapes, recognizing and building figures with them. We also have over almost 200 words on wall that we have been using to formulate sentences! Social Studies: we are learning about the meaning of Responsibility, how to be responsible for things in our classroom, neighborhood, and home.
