“On My Way to Leadership – A Cross-cultural Journey” “REAL Leadership Learning Series” “On My Way to Leadership – A Cross-cultural Journey” by Prof Claudia Rugart Department of Vocational Schools, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports Baden-Wurttemburg, Germany

On My Way to Leadership – A Cross-cultural Journey Key Learning Points Ms Rugart framed her sharings through these questions: Am I ready to face the (brutal) facts? Do I as a leader, always serve a durian with a mangosteen? Am I aware what my shoes are made of? Do I forget the right things? What if I am completely wrong? Am I really open to listening to people? How do I cope with my own weaknesses and those of my staff?

Key Learning Points (cont’d) Am I ready to face the (brutal) facts? Do I try to control or do I trust? Am I able to be proud of my people appropriately when they grow higher than me? Do I love what I do as a leader?
