Health when using a Computer. Fact You will be the first generation to grow up using computers. Good Posture Bad Posture

Health Issues when using a Computer. For the exam you will need to know the Health problems associated with using a computer and how to prevent it. You will need to give the hazard, what causes the hazard and explain how to prevent it.

The Main Health problems. Repetitive strain injury (RSI) – this is a painful illness that causes swelling of the wrist or fingers. Eyestrain – the symptom of eye strain is blurred vision. Headaches – this is sharp pain either in the temple or the muscles at the back of the neck. Back / neck ache – is a painful condition that prevents you from sleeping properly and doing many activities.

Possible problems and methods of prevention . In your book create the following table. Using pages 60 – 61 list the causes and ways to prevent the problem. Ensure you list all the causes and the methods of prevention. Possible problems and methods of prevention. Risk assessment ? Task 2 Using the task sheet provided complete a risk assessment of your workstation. Explain what actions must be taken to fix any problems found. Add two extra checks of your own.
