Focused Study Group (FSG) FSG is a time for students to receive additional instruction and support in math and/or reading. Math: MobyMax Reading: LiPS, Wilson, Reading Plus, and Reading Rewards Students not requiring intervention in these areas will use this time for academic extension and enrichment activities.

Student Planner Provided at the beginning of the school year to all students. Used for students to record daily assignments as well as long-term projects. Assists students with developing good study habits and time management skills.

Master Notebook Contains Student Planner and nightly HW assignments. Includes work for multiple subjects, each with specified sections. Periodically reviewed and evaluated for organization. Avoid the Abyss!

Progress Reports and Report Cards Progress reports are mailed home if students have an average of C or below in any subject at mid-quarter. Report cards are mailed home four times a school year. Special Education progress reports are completed quarterly and mailed home at the same time that report cards are sent home.

Homework Homework is posted… in each classroom for that particular subject. on the Cluster C bulletin board. on the KMS website. As a general rule, homework should take no more than one hour and fifteen minutes per night. Although it is not a graded requirement, we strongly encourage students to read for 30 minutes each night. Homework Club is available each afternoon from 2:25-2:55. Students are required to sign in for homework club to help us keep track of student attendance. Location of homework club rotates among the cluster c teachers, a sign is posted each morning to let students know where Homework Club is being held.

Tonight’s Schedule You will be following your child’s Day 1 schedule. During Pd. 4, all parents should visit their child’s music teacher (if they don’t currently have a music class, they will have General Music the second half of the year). There will be an announcement when it is time for you to pass to the next period. Enjoy your evening and thank you for attending! We’re all looking forward to a wonderful school year with your children!
